1 dead, 3 injured in I-495 pileup in Plainville
PLAINVILLE, Mass. —
Massachusetts State Police said a man was killed and three others were injured in a multivehicle crash on Interstate 495 south in Plainville.
Police said 39-year-old Tony Dang of Randolph was killed in the pileup reported at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
A total of seven vehicles were involved.
Three other drivers were hospitalized. They were identified as 31-year-old Abraham Reay of Attleboro; 24-year-old Justin Daniels of Dudley; and 28-year-old Maria Costa of Providence, Rhode Island. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Just before the crash, troopers say they were responding to reports of a vehicle traveling the wrong way in that area of I-495 south.
The crash remains under investigation.
