Ten members of the Rhode Island Air National Guard are returning home following a deployment to the Middle East and Southwest Asia.
The state's National Guard said the personnel are set to return home Tuesday following a deployment that lasted more than six months.
Their work was in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and worked at several locations including an airbase in Qatar and another in Afghanistan.
The Air National Guard members are from the 282nd Combat Communications Squadron. Their mission involved the operation of communications systems in support of the Air Force and joint military operations.
A welcome reception was planned at the North Smithfield Air National Guard Station.
