2 lottery tickets worth $1M sold in RI
CRANSTON, R.I. —
Two lottery tickets sold in Rhode Island for back-to-back drawings this week are each worth $1 million.
A ticket for the Tuesday night Mega Millions drawing was bought at Stop & Shop on Mendon Road in Cumberland. A ticket for the Wednesday night Powerball drawing was purchased at the Lukoil gas station on South County Trail in East Greenwich.
Lottery officials said the Mega Millions player won $250,000 but purchased a feature for an extra $1 that automatically quadrupled the prize. The Powerball player matched five numbers but not the Powerball number.
Neither prize has been claimed.
