4-year-old boy drowns in Mass. lake
BLACKSTONE, Mass. —
A 4-year-old Massachusetts boy who drowned in a lake near the Rhode Island border has been identified.
Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early said Monday that the boy was William Cohen of Bellingham.
Early said the boy was pulled from Lake Hiawatha in Blackstone near the Bellingham line on Sunday afternoon, about 20 minutes after he went missing. He said the boy and his parents were visiting friends on St. Germaine Avenue near the lake.
Early said CPR was performed on the boy and he was taken to Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, where he was pronounced dead. The Rhode Island medical examiner's office is performing an autopsy.
Early said there are no signs of foul play. State and Blackstone police are investigating.
