A case of parking rage turns dangerous in West Warwick
WEST WARWICK, R.I. —
A case of parking rage is to blame for a dispute in West Warwick Friday night.
What began as a simple argument over a parking space quickly escalated into a threatening situation when a 58 year old male threatened a 22 year old male with a weapon for allegedly parking in the wrong space.
West Warwick police received a call around 8:20pm from the victim reporting the alleged incident. Upon arrival the police discovered that the suspect was inside the Walnut Street residence and after several attempts contact was finally established with the suspect. Eventually police were able to convince the suspect to surrender himself peacefully, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Police would not say what the weapon was but did confirm to NBC 10 that they did recover a weapon from the suspect when he was taken into custody.
