Fairhaven High officials investigating allegations of sexting
FAIRHAVEN, Mass. —
Administrators at Fairhaven High School are investigating allegations of sexting, saying in a statement that some students may have viewed inappropriate material.
Superintendent Dr. Robert Baldwin tells NBC10 the extent of the possible sexting, how many students may be involved, is unknown.
He writes in a statement, "Given the seriousness of these allegations, we immediately began looking into this matter and will continue to do so in a very thorough and methodical manner."
Baldwin says they've notified the two high school police resource officers of the situation, but adds there is nothing so far to suggest something criminal happened. He tells NBC10 the school department will handle the investigation.
He also says the school has policies in place to deal with just this kind of thing.
The principal has sent out a call to all the school's parents making them aware of the currant situation.
