Armed robbery suspect arrested in New Bedford
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. —
A Fairhaven man is facing numerous charges while his partners in crime remain at large.
Police say Muldoon's Mini-Mart on Phillips Rd. in New Bedford, was robbed just after 10 p.m. Saturday.
The clerk told police he was robbed at knife point of an undisclosed amount of cash.
On Sunday morning, men matching their descriptions, reportedly tried to rob Supreme Donuts on Rockdale Avenue in the south end. A customer grabbed a stool and chased the suspects out of the coffee shop.
About 15 minutes later, a clerk at the Cumberland Farms store on Brock Avenue was robbed at knifepoint.
Police spotted the suspects' vehicle and gave chase. Their Toyota Camry struck a light pole near the intersection of Acushnet Avenue and Holly Streetand then hit a cement pillar at the corner of Tallman Street. Three males fled on foot.
Officer Jason Orlando apprehended Cory Henry, 32, of Fairhaven, but the other two men remain at large.
