A New York City man has been charged in the killing of a Rhode Island woman whose body was found stuffed in a 55-gallon drum in her Harlem apartment.
CBS New York reported that Bismark Lithgow, 24, was arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree murder.
The suspect's grandmother found the body of 19-year-old Francis Alfonso Pellerano on March 2. Authorities said Pellerano was stabbed several times.
Relatives told NBC 10 that Pellerano attended the Rhode Island School for the Deaf until last year. They said she went to New York to live with Lithgow, who is also deaf.
