Seven people, dog rescued from boat in Charlestown

The Coast Guard and the Charlestown Ambulance-Rescue Service helped seven people and a dog off a boat that was stranded while entering the Charlestown Breachway.

Charlestown Rescue said a 1988 Chris Craft struck the jetty at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The owner, a Connecticut man, said he couldn't steer the boat.

The owner and his wife stayed on board until daybreak when the boat could be towed to shore.

No one was hurt.
