Bright Night Providence won't be so bright this year.
The organization responsible for the New Year's Eve celebration said in a news release that it will be "taking a break" this year.
Organizers said sponsorships and funding have fallen off.
"Along with a new director and a new board, the Bright Night Director and Organizing Committee has decided that it needs more time to seek the support necessary to make the festival as big and beautiful as Providence deserves," the news release said.
Bright Night said it plans to be back to ring in 2015.
The organization said the Bright Night's Got Talent Competition for children will be held this fall.
It's not the only New Year's Eve organization struggling.
First Night Boston ceased operations Sunday after producing 37 First Night festivals.
