Bristol removing some downtown bus stops
BRISTOL, Conn. —
RIPTA and RIDOT have agreed to remove some bus stops in downtown Bristol.
There are currently eight bus stops in a two mile stretch, between Washington Street and Constitution Street.
Town officials said the abundance of stops took away parking spaces from drivers, and that the buses were causing traffic tie-ups.
RIPTA will relieve every other stop, in hopes of relieving traffic congestion in the downtown area.
