Calls for Mass. DCF head to resign

Approximately three dozen Massachusetts lawmakers{}have called for the resignation of the Commissioner of the state Department of Children and Families.

Olga Roche has been under intense scrutiny, since social workers somehow lost track of 5 year old Jeremiah Oliver.

The Fitchburg boy has not been seen since September, and is feared dead.

Three DCF members were either fired or reassigned, after it was determined that there had been no contact between the agency and the family for several days, prior to the boy's disappearance.

Both Democratic and Republican Massachusetts lawmakers signed the letter, calling for Roche's resignation.{} The Boston Herald says 24 Republicans and 10 Democrats signed the letter.

The letter was sent to Governor Deval Patrick, who has been a staunch defender of the DCF commissioner.
