Cape Air to end off-season direct flights

Cape Air is going to cancel its off-season direct flights between Hyannis and Martha's Vineyard.

The change, which becomes effective Oct. 22, was announced on the airline's website.

The Cape Cod Times reported that Cape Air has operated one round trip daily flight between Hyannis and the Vineyard.

The newspaper said the direct flights from Hyannis to Martha's Vineyard are scheduled to resume May 22.

The airline said flights between Boston, New Bedford and Nantucket to the Vineyard will not be affected.
