CCRI student issued no trespass order
WARWICK, R.I. —
A student at the Community College of Rhode Island has been issued a no trespass order after accosting female students in the parking lot of the Warwick campus.
Spokesman Richard Coren said federal privacy laws regarding students prohibit the school from releasing the man's name.
Coren said Friday a dozen women came forward about a suspicious man approaching them in the parking lot.
Coren said all the incidents happened in the middle of the day and that there was no physical contact between the man and the women.
However, three undergraduates who spoke with NBC 10 said the man was "creepy," and followed at least one of them to her car.
Coren said there have not been any similar incidents in recent years, but that steps are being taken to improve security in the parking lots, including emergency phones placed in the parking area.
