An undercover child pornography investigation leads Rhode Island State Police to an alleged marijuana growing operation in Johnston.

Police say an internet connection at 6 Fox Meadow Road was identified as being used to download images of child pornography. "During the execution of the court-authorized search warrant, a sophisticated indoor marijuana growing operation was identified at the residence" said RI State Police in a press release.

Police say they seized 25 marijuana plants, 9 ounces of usable marijuana, a digital scale and marijuana packaging equipment, 15 assorted firearms, and $16,200.

Vincent D'Errico, 54, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Controlled Substance Violation, and Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Crime of Violence.

"Mr. D'Errico identified himself as a medical marijuana patient cardholder but was found to be in possession of amounts that exceed his medicinal allotment as well as numerous firearms," police said.

As for the investigation into child pornography, police said "A court-authorized search warrant was executed at the residence and numerous pieces of digital media were analyzed and seized. The investigation into the possession of child pornography is ongoing and the digital media seized will be forensically analyzed."
