Coventry family loses home to fire
COVENTRY, R.I. —
A Coventry family lost virtually all of their possessions early Thursday morning when fire hit their home.
Firefighters were called to 89 Colvintown Road at about 1 a.m. They had the fire under control in about an hour.
The family escaped unharmed with their pets.
Officials said the fire broke out in the basement and spread upstairs. The cause was not immediately known.
Friends of the homeowners have started collecting money and other donations online.
