Cranston youth sports leader charged with selling bath salts
CRANSTON, R.I. —
A Cranston youth sports leader faces drug charges after police said he was storing illegal bath salts at a pornographic video store he owns.
Glen Lonardo, 48, of Cranston, was charged with drug possession. He was arraigned in District Court and released on $25,000 surety bail.
Police said they were called to X-citement Video on Quaker Lane in West Warwick for a report of a burglary. During an investigation, detectives located packaged material with the street name of "Nuke," commonly referred to as bath salts.
Police said detectives obtained a search warrant for the business and found more packages of bath salts.
Lonardo was later arrested and charged.
Lonardo is a board member of the Cranston League for Cranston's Future, commonly known as CLCF. He's scheduled to be back in court in April.
