Cumberland American holds off Vermont, 8-5

Addison Kopack homered and drove in three runs to lead Cumberland American to a 8-5 win over Vermont on Wednesday at the New England regional tournament in Bristol, Conn.

Brendan Wright picked up the win for Cumberland American.

Sean Meers pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief allowing two hits, one walk while striking out three.

Nick Croteau and Tyler Provost each had two hits for Cumberland American.

Aidan Johnson went 3-for-4 and drove in four runs for Vermont.

With the win, Cumberland American (3-1) clinches a spot in the regional semifinals.
