Crowd gathers to watch Cumberland American at Diamond Hill Park
CUMBERLAND, R.I. —
A crowd of people gathered Monday night to watch the Cumberland American Little League team at Diamond Hill Park in Cumberland.
The crowd watched on a giant projection screen.
"It doesn't matter, we're very proud of them," said Cumberland resident Cheryl Thorpe.
"They are representing us, representing Cumberland, New England. They are playing their hearts out. They have the drive. They have the passion for the game. They never give up and we couldn't be any more proud of them. Just to see them out there gives you goosebumps," said Cumberland resident Bruce Stanford."
