For years, New England and Manhattan clam chowders have been fighting for the top spot. But now there's a new contender, fried clam chowder.
The Skipper Restaurant in South Yarmouth, Mass., is now selling fried New England clam chowder, according to CapeCast.
Restaurant owner Alan Delaney said he just wanted to make something that was already great even better.
So how does one make this new concoction?
Thickener is added to the original clam chowder recipe to make the chowder hold its shape. It looks like a crab cake.
