Democratic hopefuls make pitches in last TV debate
The Democratic candidates for Rhode Island governor met for their final televised debate, a forum featuring few fireworks as the candidates focused on convincing voters they're best-suited for the job.
General Treasurer Gina Raimondo, Providence Mayor Angel Taveras and newcomer Clay Pell met at Johnson & Wales University in Providence for a debate aired live on NBC 10.VIDEO: Democratic Debate for Governor
They covered many issues, from lessons learned from the 38 Studios debacle to whether they'd support tolls on Interstate 95, but the debate didn't break a lot of new ground.
The Republican candidates, Cranston Mayor Allan Fung and businessman Ken Block, taped a debate earlier Wednesday and tried to highlight policy and leadership style differences. It will air Friday.
