The head of Rhode Island's Department of Labor and Training said Wednesday that the agency is hiring more people.
Director Charles Fogarty told NBC 10's "Business Lunch" that the DLT received more federal money than expected, allowing it to rehire anyone who had been laid off. He also said the DLT would hire nine part-time workers in March.
The DLT is often criticized by people trying to file unemployment claims for long wait times on the phone.
Fogarty said claims can also be made online.
