Ex-police chief faces drinking, driving charges

Truro's former police chief, who resigned in 2011 after crashing a police cruiser while driving drunk, has been arrested in Hyannis after Barnstable police say they found him in his sport-utility vehicle with his child and an open container of alcohol.

The Cape Cod Times reports that John Lundborn was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, child endangerment while operating under the influence and operating a motor vehicle with an open container.

In 2011, Lundborn resigned after he was accused of drunken driving and wrecking a new police cruiser. He admitted sufficient facts to driving drunk and was placed on probation for one year.

It wasn't known Friday if he's represented by a lawyer.
