Family feud sparks Market Basket turmoil

A family feud in the corporate offices of popular Northeast grocery store chain market basket has led to a week of huge rallies featuring frustrated workers and customers.

They're showing their support for former Market Basket CEO Arthur T. Demoulas, recently ousted by relatives at the family-owned chain.

Workers are leading the revolt.

"The endgame is to get Arthur T. Demoulas back as President and CEO running the company that he deserves to be running," explains one Market Basket employee.

Friday's rally near company headquarters in Tewksbury was the week's largest.

Good benefits and good pay have made the chain's 25,000 employees fiercely loyal to Demoulas, affectionately referred to as "Artie T", and because he kept prices low customers felt the same.
