Fire at multifamily home in Fall River ruled arson
FALL RIVER, Mass. —
A fire that gutted a multifamily home in Fall River was deliberately set, investigators said Tuesday.
More than a dozen people needed to be rescued from the July 25 fire on 22 Robeson St.
Residents were alerted by smoke detectors, but could not exit the front door because of the fire.
Some residents had to climb out the home's first-floor window. Others went down the fire escape from the second floor.
A bystander who was walking in the area helped rescue two children.
No injuries were reported.
Demolition crews had to tear down the house.
