$5,000 reward offered in Newport Walmart fire

Fire investigators believe the fire that sparked the evacuation of a Walmart in Newport was arson and they are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

In a video posted to You Tube, you can see the orange and yellow glow of the flames, as employees and customers walk out of the store on JT Connell Road Monday night.

About 30 to 40 people were inside at the time.

In a picture sent to NBC 10, you can see the flames extend up to the ceiling in the paint department.

Police and firefighters were still at the scene, hours after the fire started at about 6 p.m.{} A second alarm was called in because of the size of the building.

Officials said the fire was contained to two aisles.
