Fire damages Providence basketball coach's home
EAST GREENWICH, R.I. —
Providence College men's basketball coach Ed Cooley's home has been damaged by a small fire, but no one was injured.
Firefighters responded Tuesday evening to a fire at a home in East Greenwich. Officials didn't confirm that the home is Cooley's, but public records show he owns the house. Fire officials say the fire was in a second-floor bathroom and left the house with smoke and water damage.
Cooley told ESPN that there's a good amount of damage to the house and he, his wife and their children are staying at a hotel.
Cooley didn't immediately return a phone message left at his office by The Associated Press on Wednesday morning.
A Providence College spokesman said Wednesday morning that he had no information about the fire.
