A fire in Providence Sunday afternoon has left 8 people out in the cold.
According to Battalion Chief Jeffrey Varone, Providence Fire Department, the initial call came in just after 12:30 p.m., the house was occupied but had already been evacuated after a neighbor woke the occupants up; all seven adults and one infant were able to make it out safely.
When crews arrived on scene the structure was fully engulfed, and the situation was further complicated by frozen hydrants which delayed fire fighters efforts.
Two fire fighters sustained minor injuries while fighting the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
