Workers started trucking away debris Wednesday from the site of a major fire in downtown North Attleborough.
The historic Odd Fellows building on North Washington Street burned during a snowstorm on Jan. 3. It was torn down the next day out of fear it would collapse.
The Sun Chronicle reported that the owners recently received permission from their insurance company to clear the site. The pile of debris should be gone in about two weeks.
Workers were told to look for the 1874 cornerstone, which the Odd Fellows want to donate to a museum.
The cause of the fire was never determined.
