Firefighters climb to new heights for charity fundraiser

Providence and other area firefighters spent part of their weekend working on a cure for lung disease.

Some 200 area firefighters were part of 800 volunteers who took part in the annual "Fight for Air Climb" in Providence.

Participants climbed 22 floors at the Omni Providence Hotel Sunday. Some of the climbers referred to the event as a vertical road race.

The money raised from the climb goes to help research funded by the American Lung Association.
