Five men arrested at Lincoln Woods State Park

Five men from Rhode Island and Massachusetts were arrested Friday night, after State Police reported receiving numerous complaints about men, engaging in lewd behavior in Lincoln Woods State Park.

In a news release, Colonel Steven O'Donnell said the suspects also solicited{} park visitors for sexual acts and engaging in sexual activity in public.

Members of the State Police were inside the park, at which time they were allegedly propositioned, and on two occasions, assaulted.

Troopers and DEM police arrested John Cote, 43, of Seekonk , MA,{} David Calewa, 47, of Coventry, William Achille, 79, of North Providence,{} John Tammelleo, 79 , of Providence, and Robert Morin, 69, of Woonsocket.

All five men were charged with disorderly conduct and loitering for indecent purposes.

Calewa and Achille were also charged with simple assault.

All subjects were arraigned before a Justice of the Peace at the Rhode Island State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks and released on $1,000 personal recognizance.
