Former CEO talks about Alex & Ani exit

The former CEO of a popular Rhode Island jewelry company is now talking about his departure.

According to the Providence Journal, Giovanni Feroce, said he left Alex and Ani due to a disagreement with the company's founder, Carolyn Rafaelian.

Feroce said they disagreed about how fast the company should expand.

In an interview with the Providence Journal, Feroce said he wanted to bring in other designers so the company could compete with brands like Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren.

He wanted to begin making handbags, clothing and even perfume.

Alex and Ani is based in Cranston.
