Fourth suspect arrested in Providence killing

Satchel Ramos

A fourth suspect was arrested Wednesday in connection with the killing of a 22-year-old Providence man.

William Lopes, 29, was arrested in Fall River, where he is being held as a fugitive pending a hearing Thursday.

Lopes is the fourth suspect wanted in the March 2 stabbing death of Satchel Ramos on Atwells Avenue.

Investigators said Ramos was killed while trying to intervene in a fight between two groups of people. Ramos's brother, Clyde, also was stabbed but survived.

Eric Souza, 29, of Freetown, was arrested at the scene and charged with murder and conspiracy.

Justin Santerre, 32, of Fall River, was arrested earlier this week and charged with murder and conspiracy. His girlfriend, Lisa Fisher, was charged with failing to report a felony.

Providence police said Fall River police and Tiverton police assisted in Lopes's arrest.
