Glocester bus monitor charged with child pornography
A Glocester man who works as a school bus monitor was arrested Friday on child pornography charges.
Joseph Such Jr., 30, was arraigned in Providence District Court on charges of possession and transfer of child pornography. He was released on $10,000 personal recognizance under certain conditions. He cannot use the Internet, he cannot have contact with children, and he can only be around his teenage sister with supervision.
State police said they got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that child pornography was being emailed from Such's address.
Investigators said they seized a laptop and a cellphone from Such's home, where he lives with his parents, 29-year-old brother and 17-year-old sister.
Such works as a school bus monitor for Hopkins Transportation. State police said he was assigned to Route 53, which transports kindergarten through fifth grade students in western Glocester.
Police said there's no indication that Such had any inappropriate contact with children.
His next court appearance was set for Aug. 15.
