Grand jury indicts man in Central Falls killings
CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. —
A grand jury on Wednesday indicted a man on two counts of murder in connection with the killing of two men in Central Falls.
Pedro Lopez, 19, is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence Superior Court on Dec. 4.
Lopez is accused of killing Malcolm Townes and Nathan Lewis at the end of June.
The bodies of the two men were found on the third floor of an apartment on Sylvian Street.
Arthur Messier lived across the street from the apartment building.
He told NBC 10 on July 4 that he heard two gun shots on the day that investigators believe Townes and Lewis were killed. He said he saw people driving away from the building but didn't call police because he doesn't have the best relationship with officers.
Lopez was also charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.
