Grand jury indicts man in Johnston killings
A grand jury released an indictment Monday charging a man of killing his ex-girlfriend and her adult daughter and kidnapping a boy, the state attorney general said.
Daniel Rodriguez was charged with two counts of murder, two counts of discharging a firearm while in the commission of a violent crime, one count of burglary, one count of kidnapping of a minor, one count of carrying a firearm without a license, and one count or altered serial number on a firearm.
Rodriguez is accused of killing 40-year-old Evelyn Burgos and 25-year-old Vanessa Perez at their home in Johnston in August.
He's also accused of kidnapping Burgos's 2-year-old son, Isaiah Perez.
Isaiah's abduction triggered a nationwide Amber Alert. The boy was found wandering a Providence street, but he was unharmed.
Rodriguez is being held without bail and scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court on Nov. 25.
