Grand jury indicts man in Providence killing
A grand jury on Friday handed up an indictment charging a man in the fatal shooting of a Providence man during a botched drug deal.
Jason King was charged with one count of murder, two counts of discharging a firearm while during a crime of violence and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Authorities allege King shot and killed 28-year-old Luis Aquino during a drug deal on Nov. 4. Another man was also wounded.
Police have also charged Lloyd Streater, of New Haven, in the killing.
Both King and Streater were arrested in Connecticut five days after Aquino's death.
King is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence Superior Court on April 4.
