Two home invasions in two days in Providence

Providence police reported two home invasions in two days.

Police said two men barged into a house on Althea Street at about 8 a.m. Monday. The men entered through the back door and then escaped in a waiting car.

Police have not said what, if anything, was taken or if anyone was hurt.

One man was injured early Sunday morning in another reported home invasion.

Police said two intruders woke a sleeping couple when they broke into a Joslin Street home about 5 a.m. The residents fought back, and one of them was pistol-whipped.

The suspects took off with a few items.
