Hundreds line up for Hernandez Jersey Swap
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. —
In the wake of a high profile murder investigation, Aaron Hernandez will never have the opportunity to reverse the decisions he made that got him kicked off the New England Patriots, but Saturday his fans were able to swap out their decision to support him.
Steve Giordano remembers how excited his son Danny was when he first got his Aaron Hernandez Jersey last Christmas, and how he thought that he would be seeing his son wear it for a long time to come.
That all changed however after Hernandez was arrested for the murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. Now Giordano never wants to see that name on the back of his 3-year-old son.
Former fans from across New England indulged their buyers remorse at a free Hernandez Jersey exchange at Patriot's place. Before entering the pro-shop they dropped of their #81 jersey at a tent outside in exchange for a yellow redemption ticket.
Once people received their ticket they got to simply grab the jersey they wanted inside the Pro Shop, anything on the racks was fair game
Most are looking for a name they can wear proudly on their backs, or someone their kids can look up to, but most importantly they want someone who will make headlines only for their work on the field.
