I-Team: Indictment made in food stamp fraud investigation

A man was indicted Thursday after a two-year investigation uncovered more than $3 million of alleged fraud in Rhode Island.

Mashhod Afzal, 25, an employee of Stop & Go in Providence, was charged with conspiracy, food stamp fraud and lying to a federal agent.

Stop & Go is one of five convenience stores allegedly participating in conspiracies to defraud the federal system.
