Judge wants decision in Derderian case by April 1
A decision is expected by April 1 in a workers' compensation case involving the owners of The Station nightclub.
A judiciary spokesman said Thursday that no new filings were made in the case, which had been delayed.
A judge set a Feb. 28 deadline for attorneys to make any additional filings before submitting the case to an appeals panel. The judge said earlier this month he wants the case wrapped up by April 1.
The state Department of Labor and Training fined Jeffrey and Michael Derderian's company, Derco LLC, $1.06 million for failing to carry workers' compensation insurance. No action was ever taken to collect the fine.
Four employees of The Station were among the 100 killed in the Feb. 20, 2003, fire.
