A legislative panel on Common Core State Standard in Rhode Island will be held at Rhode Island College on Monday.
The panel, "Implementing the Common Core: Perspectives from around the State," take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Gaige Hall Auditorium. Several state lawmakers will be there, including Rep. Frank Ferri, Rep. Maria Cimini, Rep. Lisa Tomasso, Rep. Gregg Amore and Rep. Joy Hearn.
The panel is an opportunity for the public to get information about the Common Core roll-out that has been under way in Rhode Island since 2010.
The public is encouraged to attend. After the presentation, educators from around the state will answer questions and share their experiences with the implementation of the Common Core State Standards in different districts throughout the state.
