Former Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt is returning to the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships in Newport, tournament directors said Friday.
The tournament will be held July 8-14, right after Wimbledon. It is the only grass-court tournament in North or South America.
Hewitt made it to the final last year, where he lost to American John Isner. Isner has also committed to playing the Hall of Fame Championships this year.
Hewitt, a 32-year-old Australian, won the U.S. Open in 2001 and Wimbledon in 2002.
Top Americans Sam Querry, Ryan Harrison and Jack Sock are also expected to play.
