PROVIDENCE — At 12:45 a.m. on June 7, Rhode Island state police stopped and arrested 35-year-old Robert Lewis for driving under the influence.Lewis failed a series of sobriety tests after being stopped by troopers on Plainfield Street in Providence. The 35-year-old East Providence native had his 6-year-old son properly restrained in the rear seat of the car at the time. Lewis submitted for a breath test while detained at the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks and registered blood alcohol content readings of 0.185% and 0.180%.Lewis was held overnight before being released personal recognizance. His son was also taken to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was later released to a family member. The Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families has been notified of the incident.
