Man in custody after an early morning murder in Central Falls
CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. —
In a press release sent to NBC 10 from the Central Falls Police Department, a male is now in custody after an early morning assault which killed a Central Falls woman. At approximately 5:07 a.m. on Sunday, police received a 911 call from 149 Valley Street second floor right; the nature of the call was a disturbance within the residence.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of an adult female, identified as Shelina Moreino, 41, who had succumbed to injuries sustained from an apparent assault.
The cause of death will be released upon conclusion of the Office of the State Medical Examiners autopsy report.
Officers on scene also located an adult male, identified as Robert Bethea, 45, who was taken into custody in connection with the death investigation.
He was later arraigned on charges of Domestic Murder and Violation of a No Contact Order, and will be held without bail at the ACI until his appearance in court Monday morning.
Any further information surrounding this case, as to the motive or other circumstances, cannot be released until the investigation is concluded by members of the Central Falls Police Detective Bureau, in conjunction with the Office of the Rhode Island Attorney General.
