Man sentenced to prison in Cranston double shooting

Thomas Alejo

A man charged with shooting his estranged wife and her boyfriend is heading to prison.

Thomas Alejo pleaded guilty in Providence Superior Court on Friday to the shooting as part of an agreement with prosecutors. He'll serve 15 years in jail in connection with several charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon.

In May, Alejo opened fire outside a Cranston karate studio, before leading police on a manhunt.

He was caught a short time later, in Warwick.
