Miss America visits children at Hasbro Children's Hospital
Miss America Nina Davuluri brought a message about diversity to Hasbro Children's Hospital on Monday.
Davuluri, 25, gave a speech and visited with young patients at Hasbro. She also serves as a Goodwill Ambassador to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
Davuluri, who is Indian American, promoted her platform of Celebrating Diversity through Cultural Competency.
The native of Syracuse, N.Y., has launched a social media campaign to encourage the positive discussion of diversity issues. She was the target of racist comments after winning her crown.
Miss Rhode Island Jessica Marfeo was also in attendance.
