At least 40 more people have been laid off at Alex and Ani, the much-publicized Cranston-based jewelry and fashion accessories company.
Providence Business News reported the latest round of layoffs includes four top-level executives. Only one of those positions, the chief financial officer, has been replaced.
PBN Editor Mark Murphy told NBC 10 that the exodus follows the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Giovanni Feroce.
Murphy said employees that were let go had to sign non-disclosure and non-compete clauses to receive severance packages.
The company said last month that it planned to hire 250 workers across the country in the next six months.
