A Providence man accused of killing a woman and taking her flat screen TV is expected in court Tuesday for a pre-trial hearing.

Douglas White, 34, is accused of killing 54-year-old Donna Oliver.

Police said her sons found their mother dead in her home the day before Mother's Day.

Authorities are unclear if there was in fact a relationship between White and Oliver. They said Oliver's body was found at 25 Grape St. on May 2 but that she was murdered weeks before that.

White was arrested in July for larceny charges. He has an extensive criminal history including felony assault, drugs and failing to register as a sex offender.

White is listed as a Level 3 sex offender, a category reserved for those most likely to re-offend.

White is also accused of stealing Oliver's flat screen TV.
