Parents of diabetic child reach agreement with school district
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. —
A New Bedford girl with diabetes will be able to attend her school after all.
The parents of 6-year-old Hannah Walsh kept her out of the Winslow School this year because it didn't have a full-time nurse. The position was cut to part time because of budget cuts.
But after pressure from the family, school officials reached an agreement to bring-in a full time nurse.
The girl's father told NBC 10 News that he's happy with the outcome.
